Cinos wins Webexceptional Integrations Partner at Cisco Partner Awards for Refero

Refero was born out of the need to provide a platform for collaboration across health and social care services. Its aim was to provide better health and social care outcomes for citizens while easing the strain on public sector services.

Today, Refero can be accessed online via a web portal or smartphone and tablet applications. It integrates seamlessly with hospital clinical systems and because it is powered by Cisco, enables first class video and audio teleconsultations between patient and practitioner.

St Helens & Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (STHK) were one of the first adopters of Refero and it is safe to say the results have been exceptional. The Trust provides a full range of acute healthcare services across three sites at Whiston, St Helens and Newton hospitals and have a valued workforce of over 4,500 staff.

Last month, Dan Worman, Executive Director at Cinos and CEO of Refero, was part of the panel at the IHM GameChanger event at STHK where they discussed the Trust’s approach in harnessing Refero to drive major efficiencies.

Refero has enabled STHK to remotely assess patients recovering at home via video. The integration of collaboration technology and patient administration systems has significant benefits; increasing quality of patient care and saving time for staff. Within five months of the implementation, STHK were able to decrease ‘no show’ treatment appointments by 25% and dramatically reduce community nurse travel miles.
