As outlined in our Carbon Reduction Plan, Cinos is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2047. We are now pleased to share that our plans to reduce scope 1 and scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions 42% by 2030 have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The SBTi was formed as a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Recognised globally as a leading corporate climate action organisation, the SBTi empowers companies and financial institutions to play a meaningful role in addressing the climate crisis. By developing robust standards, tools, and guidance, the SBTi enables organisations to set GHG emissions reduction targets that align with the urgent need to keep global warming below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at latest.

By joining the SBTi, Cinos have ensured that our low-carbon transformation is aligned with climate science. We have set emissions reduction targets through the SBTi, with levels required to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement. The targets covering greenhouse gas emissions from our operations (scopes 1 and 2) are consistent with reductions required to keep warming to 1.5°C, what the latest climate science has told us is needed to prevent the most damaging effects of climate change.

Cinos commits to reduce scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions. As part of our commitment to reach net-zero by 2047 we have committed to reduce scope 1+2+3 emissions 100% by 2047 from a 2022 base year.

Cinos is committed to embedding sustainability into every aspect of our operations. Having our targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative reinforces our determination to make a measurable difference. These commitments reflect our responsibility to our people, our clients, and future generations, ensuring that every step we take contributes to combating the climate crisis and achieving a sustainable future for all.
