On Wednesday 8th March 2023, the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh opened its doors for the Women in Policing Conference 2023 (WiP23). Aligning with International Women’s Day, the conference ran over three days with Police Scotland as hosts and Cinos as the headline sponsor.
For those unaware, the Women in Policing Conference is hosted by a different UK Police Force, with a different theme, every two years. It is supported by the Women’s Chief Officer Network (WCON) and British Association of Women in Policing (BAWP).
Why Cinos have sponsored the WiP23 conference
Cinos have a long-standing history working with UK Police Forces and sponsoring WiP23 is something we were very proud of. It aligns with our commitment to create a positive, inclusive, and enjoyable working environment for all employees.

After a warm welcome to Scotland and to the Conference from Police Scotland’s Chief Constable Sir Iain Livingstone QPM, delegates were hosted by Kaye Adams and addressed by a range of keynote speakers including Gamal Turawa (MIDHP), Katy Parrott, Jacque Smith and Shelley Kerr, focusing on the themes of Life, Legacy and Leadership.
Highlighting unified communications solutions for Police Forces
As well as showcasing our solutions and services at the Conference, Lisa Brown, UC & Enterprise Project Manager at Cinos delivered a presentation, highlighting some of the recent projects Cinos have been working on with Police Forces across the UK.
After the conference wrapped up on the 10th of March, Lisa gave her thoughts on the event as a whole: “I was honoured to speak about the exciting work we are doing with Police Scotland, driving digital transformation with the provision of a Unified Communications and Contact Platform as well as providing innovation for the future with solutions such as the negotiator service. It was also great to reflect on some of the other projects we have done with Police Forces across the UK other Public Sector organisations.”
“I was glad to have the opportunity to meet new people, make connections and be part of the Women in Policing Conference. Police Scotland did a fantastic job of hosting the event and I am sure the attendees will agree that all of the key presenters told inspiring and motivational stories with a theme of Life, Legacy & Leadership.”
“The event was nicely tied down with a very clear message of be kind, be respectful and support one another, not only within a women’s network but with all our colleagues and members of our community from all walks of life, backgrounds and characteristics.”
